Please continue to keep Jackson's wife Jenny and the Baugh family in your prayers. Jenny is battling lymphatic cancer.
Update 1/21/09:
Jenny completed a very long year full of cancer treatment in December. She was tested on December 29 and we went to Ann Arbor to get the results on January 5. Once again, we thank all of you for lifting her up in prayer through this ordeal. We are excited to announce that her oncologist told her that she is in remission again! Thank God!
Pray now for longevity. This was her 4th time with Lymphoma. Her longest remission so far has been a little over two years. We're going for fifty years to forever this time! 8-)
Thanks again! Love in CHRIST, Jackson & Jenny.
Update 11/5/08:
Yesterday and Monday (November 3rd & 4th) Jenny received two more infusions. Hopefully, this is the next to last treatment needed. She is scheduled for infusion in December, anything subsequent to that date would be an extension of the recommended treatment.
Last week she was tested to see what the long months of treatment were doing. Good news! The tests revealed that the cancer was inactive and dormant in every area with the exception of one small area in the arm pit and one in the chest. Both were described by her oncologist as "slivers", inferring that they are very small. Our hope and prayer is that these two areas are taken care of by these last treatments.
Thank you all again for remembering Jenny in prayer on a regular basis.

Update 9/11/08 (Jenny's 8th anniversary of diagnosis):
Jenny had her third round of back-to-back Bendamustine Chemotherapy this week. There will be six applications of two treatments, total. They pumped her full of steroids and Benadryl, yes....Benadryl, prior to the treatment because she had a violent allergic reaction to the treatment last month. The good news is that it appears that it is working. The obvious nodes seem to be vanishing. At the end of this routine (December will be the last infusion) she will have scans and everything to confirm and calculate exactly what is going on in there.
Great news: we found out that her oldest sister, Christina (in Tennessee) is an exact match if Jenny needs a bone marrow transplant in the future. That is a relief. Katie (in Mississippi) was tested and did not match. We weren't looking forward to going into the national bank and searching.
Well, we will keep you posted in the future. Love all y'all (that's West Virginia for everyone),
Jackson
Update 7/16/08:
Unfortunately, the Rituxen treatment that Jenny received in the last few months did not have any effect on her NHL Lymphoma. On Monday, we returned to The University of Michigan Cancer Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan to start a new treatment. It is more intensive than the previous drug and will be administered in back-to-back days, twice a month for six months. This product, called Bendamustine was approved just four months ago. Clinical trials and previous usage in Europe (in particular, Germany) has shown some good results for some cases of Leukemia and Lymphoma. Again, we appreciate your prayers during this and former treatments. Jenny, in the meantime, still feels pretty good and is relatively healthy. She continues to sing in our church choir and praise band, works at the church 4 days a week as our Pastor's administrative secretary and performs her normal daily functions. She even squeezes in occasional bass fishing trips to inland lakes with me, one of her favorite past times. You can contact her with words of encouragement at jbaugh@wowway.com or just walk up to her when she's out and about. You can see her regularly at our home church, Friendship Baptist in Lincoln Park (www.hopefoundhere.com) and select Kindred Nation concerts. Yes, even after all these years she still puts up with my playing. Also, lift up our children. My daughter is at the age (11) when she is starting to understand that "Mommy's Cancer" is in fact potentially dangerous. Eight years ago, upon diagnosis, she really didn't understand it all. Also, our son, Phillip (19), is on tour with a worship band called Wellspring. This and the fact that he has been away to college (Spring Arbor Christian University) and will return there soon, is sometimes trying for him. Part of him knows that he is doing what he should do, what he needs to do and what he has been called to do. The other part of him feels a need to be with his mother during these trying times. On behalf of Jenny, our children, Phillip and Dana, God bless all of you for caring and for your support.

Update 5/30/08:
Jenny received her last treatment on Wednesday, May 28, 2008, wrapping up a month long regiment of chemical therapy, mainly Rituxen. Her first treatment on May 7 sparked a reaction, resulting in heavy rigoring (uncontrollable shaking and bouncing-similar to a seizure except you stay awake). It is hard to watch and I'm certain worse to endure. I actually held her down on the bed so that she didn't "bounce" while the medical staff applied drugs to slow and ultimately stop the reaction.
Her subsequent treatments were preceded by drugs to prevent this reaction as well as nausea. They all went fairly well. She even slept through some of the treatments. Our son Phillip went with us for one of the treatments, which meant a lot to her. He is home for the summer from Spring Arbor Christian University where he is studying to be a music pastor.
Tests will be performed in about a month to determine how the treatment has worked. Additional treatments will be prescribed at this point.
As many of you know, this is Jenny's fourth bout with B Cell Lymphoma cancer, starting on 9-11-00 when she was first diagnosed. I humbly and gratefully thank all of you that have asked about her, e-mailed, called and most of all lifted her up in prayer.
Even though the disease has returned for now, she feels good, looks good and goes on with life. She sings in our praise team and choir at church, is the administrative secretary for our pastor, runs the kids (including me) in circles and attends most activities and whenever we can, gets in the boat and bass fishes with me. Don't be jealous guys…every man needs a woman that bass fishes! 8-)
We feel blessed that through it all she has been strong and healthy enough to "go on" during every treatment period, continuing to do what she enjoys.

Update 9/21/07:
University of Michigan Hospital called yesterday and informed Jenny that her cancer is back. She is no longer in remission. Please lift her in prayer. This was hard to hear, obviously. She has had NHL Lymphoma four times since September 11, 2000, which is her anniversary date of her first diagnosis.

Update 6/27/07:
I wanted to let everyone know how my doctor's appointment went today. After viewing my CAT scans himself, he feels the best thing to do right now is to repeat the scans in three months and then see if there is any difference in the size of the lymphnodes in the groin area. He can't be sure at this point if the lymphoma is back or not. All of my blood work came back really good. So we will just continue to leave this in the Lord's hands and trust Him for the results. Thanks for the prayers and please continue to pray. I am blessed to have such an awesome church family.
Thank you and God Bless each one of you!
Jenny Baugh
Update 6/13/07:
Jenny had her CAT scans on Monday. Yesterday we received a call from U-M Hospital. It looks as if she has expansion growth in a few areas of lymph nodes again. They are moving her appointment with her oncologist up (ASAP). Probably the 26th instead of her originally scheduled July 2 day. It is then that they will confirm if the cancer is back or not. As it stands, it looks like it is. Pray up.
Luv all y'all.
Jackson
Update 12/19/06:
Jenny had her oncology check-up yesterday in Ann Arbor's U-M Cancer Center. Once again, there was an area of concern and once again it has been determined that it not an active cancer. Dr. Kaminski said that it is a nodule of some form that could be from many different things. He doesn't think that it is associated with the cancer at all. In his words, referring to the nodes, "I'm not impressed". If he's not... I'm not either.
Jackson
Update 6/14/06:
Jenny received a call from Judy Estes, Dr. Mark Kaminski's right hand woman, yesterday. Her tests, scans and blood work all came back "negative". This means that the cancer is still bye-bye and she is in remission. It has been about a year and a half since her Bexar treatment. Thanks to all for your concern, support and prayers for her!
Jackson Baugh
Update 6/24/05:
Jenny had her meeting with her oncologist on Monday, June 20. To be honest, we were concerned about one place in particular that was suspect. It is also the same place where the cancer was detected the three previous times that she was diagnosed. To God be the glory, the suspect area has been identified as scar tissue from the previous treatments and her scans and blood work declare her to be in a continued remission from B-Cell NHL Lymphoma Cancer. Thanks to all (again....still) for lifting her up in prayer.
Jackson
Update 1/11/05:
Jenny and I made our Tri-monthly pilgrimage to Ann Arbor yesterday to see her oncologist. I am pleased to announce that she is in a complete remission (again). We were thankful and relieved because there was a small unidentified area that was still showing up on the CAT scans. They have been dismissed as scar tissue after comparing these scans to previous scans. Glory to God in the HIGHEST!
Jackson
Please join us in praising God and praying for continued remission!
Update 1/04/05:
Jenny is feeling fine right now in spite of the tiredness that goes with treatment. She is staying out of crowds for the time being until all of her blood counts come back to normal. Please continue to pray for healing.
Update 12/02/04:
Jenny's semi-isolation is over, praise God! Please continue to pray for peace, strength, and her complete healing.
Update 11/24/04:
Jenny is home after receiving the Bexxar treatment. Because the treatment is radioactive, she has to keep a considerable distance from everyone (even her kids) for the next 8 days. Please pray that the treatment is effective and for her spirits during this period of isolation.
Update 11/22/04:
"Pray up. Tomorrow is HUGE."
Jackson
Update 11/13/2004:
Thank you all for prayer and for asking about Jenny. She feels fine right now. The cancer was caught (again...3rd time) early because she has complete scans every three months. She will go into U-M Ann Arbor Cancer Center next Tuesday for a "tracer dose" of a substance called Bexxar. As long as her body handles it she will have a full treatment on Tuesday the 23rd. Bexxar is a fairly new treatment in the Lymphoma world but has had good results. Pray for the entire family. We have two children, 15 & 7. Our daughter (7 yr old) will be the most difficult to deal with during this time because Jenny has to be semi-isolated. Bexxar is a radioactive substance and she will emit gamma rays for 7-9 days. The kids have to stay 6-8 feet from her at all times, the rest of us most of the time. This is to protect our thyroids (the kids thyroids aren't fully formed yet until about 18 yrs of age). It all fire's up next week. Pray up. We're counting on it.
